Abstract
Orthodontic tooth movement in adult patients, there were many researches about a rapid tooth movement has been reported. Many studies have described the surgical procedure, however, mechanical bone removals can develop some serious complications. To overcome this problem by acid treatment of cortical bone to obtain a similar effect was studied in the course of these studies showed the new bone formation in acid treatment group. In this experiment, cells treated with acid pre-treated collagen membrane, the influence on the in vitro experiments were analyzed.
The subjects were 5 New Zealand white rabbits(mean body weight 2.5~3.0 kg). After flap reflection through an crestal incision on mandible, about 1cm X 1cm sized periosteum tissues were collected for the cell culture. The experimental group treated with collagen membrane which is pretreated by 10% phosphoric acid was applied to culture dish, the control group, no treatment collagen membrane was applied. Flow cytometry(Flow cytometry-FACS) was performed to see the cell viability and apoptosis.Flow cytometric analysis after 24 hours, there was no difference between the two groups, 48 hours than the control group were observed in the massive apoptosis. In the experimental group compared with control after 48 hours decreased apoptosis and this cell survival is considered a positive influence. However, in addition to the establishment of a stable long-term research to the acid effect and application would be needed.
